Regular Short Respite Carers Break
This proactive service makes a real difference to a carer’s emotional wellbeing. One of our trained, professional support workers takes over for around 3 hours per week, giving the carer time for the things they want to do.Carers Respite Breaks can be funded through our Helping You Care scheme for 18 hours. Beyond this, they may be self-funded or referred to Herts County Council to assess funding eligibility. Caring For Life Home Care
This care package is typically for clients who are living on their own, or have family or friends who provide unpaid care and are in immediate need of support. Calls last a minimum of one hour, providing emotional as well as physical support, including personal care, meal preparation, medication and mobility assistance.This service can be self-funded, or paid directly by a Local Authority. Crossroads Herts North provide support, information and social interaction for unpaid carers and their caredfor. These drop-in meet-ups are a great opportunity to make new friends and find out what is available in your area.They are free to attend and currently support people in Letchworth, Cheshunt, Stevenage and (from January 2020) Bishops Stortford. Respite Centre Stevenage
Our friendly centre provides care for vulnerable adults 5 days a week. We support up to 8 clients a day and free transport is available for Stevenage residents from Wednesday to Friday. Helping Carers into Work or Education
We offer free one-to-one mentoring to carers are who unemployed and want to get into work or education. Our aim is to help build confidence, as well as finding work experience and quality care solutions.Give us a call on 01462 427545 to find out more.
Crossroads Breakaway Volunteer Service
Our fabulous team of skilled volunteers help people stay connected through a free service that provides breaks for unpaid carers. We provide 2 to 4 hours per week, supporting the cared-for by:
- Listening and being a friend
- Sharing time to support hobbies and interests
- Providing a connection to the community.
Crossroads Care Hertfordshire North provides support for unpaid family carers and the people they care for in Hertfordshire. Our service is available in the towns and villages of North Herts, Stevenage, Welwyn, Hatfield, Dacorum, St Albans, East Herts and Broxbourne. We provide flexible packages of help and support to carers and their families in the home and in the community.
