Jane Ritchie was appointed Captain of Knebworth Golf Ladies Section (KGL) for 2015. During her year of office she has been busily fundraising for local charity Crossroads Care Hertfordshire North. The fundraising efforts started earlier in the year with a bridge drive followed by coffee mornings with raffles, cake sales, book and plant stalls and various gift sales.
About her chosen charity Jane said “I am delighted to support Crossroads Care, a local charity, which provides much needed breaks for family carers. I know how difficult this can be, particularly when carers are looking after someone who has dementia.”
Thanks to the generosity of Barclays who gave match funding for the coffee mornings the total raised over the year amounted to £7,588.76 and on Thursday 17th December a cheque was presented to Andrew Taylor Deputy CEO and Operations Manager at Crossroads Care Hertfordshire North by Jane Ritchie.
Mr. Taylor said “Jane’s fundraising efforts are amazing and very much appreciated by Crossroads. The money will help us to provide much needed support for local carers who are looking after a loved one at home. The relationship with KGL over the past year has been very productive not only for the fundraising efforts but also in helping us to raise awareness about carers and the work that Crossroads do locally to help them.”
