Ambassador Volunteers – Crossroads Care Hertfordshire North

Crossroads Care Hertfordshire North rely heavily on their volunteer workforce and have benefited from volunteer admin support in their busy Hitchin office and IT volunteers working on their Getting Carers Connected project.

Sheelagh Taylor, Chief Executive of the charity said “Due to the Charity’s growing events programme and opportunities to promote and market the services offered to family Carers, a new Ambassador Volunteer role has been specially developed.

The main responsibilities of the role will include attending events to raise the profile of carers and the work that Crossroads Care can do to support them, distributing leaflets and flyers and supporting fundraising activities.”

Volunteering in this way does not require a regular weekly commitment and may mean just a couple of hours a month fitted around individual availability and our programme of events. On occasions volunteers will be needed at weekends but you will be working with a team and training will be given.

A number of people have already expressed an interest in becoming an Ambassador Volunteer and two Information Events have been planned so that anyone interested can come along and find out more about what is involved and talk to some our existing volunteers.

The Information Events are being held as follows:

Date: Wednesday 23rd October 2013

Time: 3 pm

Venue: La Concha Wine & Tapas in Letchworth Garden City SG6 3AN

Date: Tuesday 19th November 2013

Time: 10 am

Venue: Stevenage Borough Council, Daneshill House, Stevenage SG1 1HN

The events will last no more than two hours and refreshments will be available.
