Local dignitaries including the Mayor and Mayoress of Stevenage, Stephen McPartland MP and Cllr. Jane Gray Chairman of NHDC were welcomed to MBDA on Thursday 13th June by Bryony Smith their UK General Manager. The Stevenage Company kindly hosted an event for Crossroads Care about Carers and Employment. Keynote speakers were Dame Philippa Russell, Chair of the Standing Commission on Carers and Elaine Edgar, Policy Manager at the Department of Health. The audience representing local businesses and working carers were invited to hear about the work of a Government Task and Finish Group researching Carers and Employment. They heard about the group’s initial findings and took part in discussions that will help to shape and inform the report that will be made to Ministers in due course.
