Carers Enjoy Festive Lunches

Thanks to generous funding from Jennings of Ickleford and the Co-operative Funeralcare in Letchworth and Stevenage local carers were able to celebrate Christmas in style this year and enjoy a well earned and relaxing break having lunch together.

More than 50 members of three local Carers’ Cafés in Hitchin, Letchworth and Stevenage will enjoy festive lunches with all the trimmings.

The Stevenage Group went to the Fisherman Pub in Fishers Green for their lunch and a good time was had by all. The Letchworth group are booked for lunch at the Broadway in Letchworth Garden City and Hitchin Carers will lunch at the Croft.
Tricia Marshall from The Co-operative Funeralcare, said: “Many carers either don’t get time to treat themselves or feel guilty about rewarding themselves with a bit of luxury. We hope, therefore, the carers involved will be able to enjoy this Christmas meal and relax as they all deserve a well-earned break from all the wonderful caring work they undertake for their loved ones.”
Sheelagh Taylor, Chief Executive of Crossroads Care Hertfordshire North added “Breaks for Carers are so important and we are delighted that thanks to this generous funding all Carers attending our Cafes in Comet country have the opportunity to enjoy a lunch that is paid for and well deserved.”
