A Charity Coffee Morning hosted in aid of Crossroads Care Hertfordshire North took place on Monday 21st July.
In recognition of the support received from Crossroads Care, Sylvia, a regular member of the Stevenage Carers’ Café Group, kindly opened her beautiful gardens for tea, coffee and cakes. She rallied friends and neighbours to help out with baking cakes and serving on the morning. A fun raffle was also held, for which prizes were generously donated.
The morning was enjoyed by all with many members from local Carers’ Cafés attending. It stayed warm and dry while Sylvia’s garden looked lovely and colourful. Sylvia had family support during the charity event with her daughter and grand-daughter helping with the setup, helping to serve tea and cake or doing the washing up. This family effort involving three generations is very encouraging and inspiring.
This is the second year that Sylvia has hosted a coffee morning in aid of the Crossroads charity and the event last year raised a wonderful total of £150.
This year the event was tremendously successful, with raffle tickets and donations raising £343.30 – a truly amazing amount and valued contribution.
