A team of Work Experience students aged 14 -19 from the new Da Vinci College in Letchworth Garden City volunteered for Crossroads Care Hertfordshire North recently.
Crossroads are the chosen charity of the year for Sainsbury’s in Hitchin and to raise awareness about their services giving breaks to family carers and to raise funds for the charity the volunteer students did a bag pack over the weekend. Benny the bear greeted shoppers and staff were on hand to talk about the services available and the work of the charity.
A total of £394.00 was raised from the event and Richard Beasley Manager at the Hitchin Store said “We are delighted to support Crossroads in this way and believe that they are a very worthy local charity that makes a huge difference to the lives of local carers.”
Wedding Fayre
The Da Vinci College in Letchworth Garden City is the venue for a Wedding Fayre on Sunday 17th November 2013 from 11 am until 4 pm. Free parking is available on site. The event is being held in support of Crossroads Care with funds raised on the day being donated to the Charity.
More than 20 exhibitors will be at the Fayre including florists, jewellery, bridal hair and make-up and wedding cakes and cars.
Two catwalk fashion shows with bridal gowns from Hinxworth Bridal and mother of the bride outfits from Hawkins of Hitchin will take place at 12.30 pm and 2.30 pm.
