At the Hitchin Carers’ Café recently, Sian from Hertfordshire Health Walks delivered a talk about the free walks which are led in Hitchin and Letchworth.
Walking is an ideal way of taking exercise and is suitable for all ages and abilities. It de-stresses, increases confidence and is good for your general wellbeing because it strengthens the heart, muscles and bones.
Joining in on a led Health Walk is also a group activity and meeting new people is a valuable sociable experience. All of the walks are graded to make it easier to judge the most suitable walk for your abilities, starting from a 20-30 minute walk rising right up to a 90 minute walk.
