Building Better Opportunities
We passionately believe carers and former carers should have opportunities and support to work, if you want to.
However as a carer or former carer, the thought of starting work for the first time or getting back to work may feel impossible, overwhelming or just too difficult.
The STRIVE Project Mentors offer tailored support to individuals experiencing a variety of difficulties obtaining employment due to their circumstances.
Support will be tailored to your circumstances with the aim of helping you progress into paid work or access learning and volunteering opportunities that act as a stepping stone towards paid work in the future.
On offer is support with :
- Building confidence
- Identifying opportunities for skills training
- Securing work experience placements, volunteering opportunities, or apprenticeships
- Recognising abilities and skills you have gained to date
- Identifying suitable job roles that fit around your caring role
- Obtaining advice about how learning and work may affect any benefits you receive
Crossroads Care Hertfordshire North are proud to be a partner of Hertfordshire’s Building Better Opportunities STRIVE project. The project is supported by the Big Lottery Fund and European Social Fund as part of Hertfordshire’s Building Better Opportunities programme.
