My name is Sheelagh Taylor and I am the Chief Executive of Crossroads Care Hertfordshire North. It is my belief that carers are the unsung heroes of our society who deserve better recognition. It is our job at CCHN to provide the best possible support, both practical and emotional, for carers and those they care for.I have worked in the voluntary sector for 17 years after 20 years in private industry. I joined CCHN in October 2007 and since then we have seen considerable change with the rapid growth of our charity to provide even more carers with short respite breaks and emotional support. We also now provide Carers Café support groups for carers, specialist dementia care and support for those with mental health needs.

The flexibility and reliability of our tailor-made packages of care make us special. Carers tell us we are a “lifeline” and we are very proud that we are able to support carers to do the tough and stressful job they do in taking care of their relatives or friends.
